HISTORY

The original Bearfoot debuted back in 1979 by its first owner, Fred Shafer. The truck originally debuted as a blue Chevy but switched to the iconic red Dodge in 1992. Bearfoot quickly became a popular truck amongst fans and was the first monster truck to crush a school bus. By the late 80’s, the popularity of the Bearfoot name grew so big, Fred Shafer asked other owners to run the name on their trucks/chassis. The truck gained many victories during the PENDA series and during that time also achieved the long jump world record. In 1997, Paul Shafer bought the truck and the name soon after the PENDA series ended.

Over the years, the truck has had many drivers, including Todd Frolik, Larry Swim, BJ Johnson, Brian Womack, Mike Dropik, James Tigues II, Rodney Tweedy and many more.

In January 2022, after James Trantina purchased Paul Shafer Motorsports, he was ready to quickly put Bearfoot back on the race track with Logan Tweedy behind the wheel. The Bearfoot name is now being ran on a former Master Of Disaster chassis, previously owned by Zane Rettew.

In January 2023, Logan Tweedy would debut the black Bearfoot on a updated Dodge Ram body and rAN it until January 2024. Bearfoot will be taking a break from the racing scene to make way for a new QUAD CHAOS.
